Wolverine Invitational – Electric Event!

Saturday, Jan. 12 – Ann Arbor Michigan, University of Michigan Indoor Track Building

By invitation of Coach James Henry of the Michigan Track & Field programs, twenty-nine members of the Ann Arbor Track Club entered the club exclusive Community Mile at the Wolverine Invitational Indoor Track Meet. The one-mile race took place on the state of the art, 200-meter banked track prior to the collegiate distance races, sprints, and relays.

The Community Mile was a mixed heat for male and female runners of various paces and ages (16-70+). Members recorded times between 5:09.21 and 8:12.72. This was a real special event for all members, many of whom had family and friends in attendance. The event was even more memorable for those seeing the new U of M track facility and running on a banked track for the first time.  The atmosphere was electric for our members who not only ran, but watched elite college and some pro athletes competing in the meet.

The Ann Arbor Track Club sincerely thanks the coaches, facilities management, and volunteers at the University of Michigan for making this event possible and so memorable.
