The Ann Arbor Track Club seeks to be a resource for running in the Ann Arbor area. Listed here are local group running activities that are open to the public and welcoming of new participants.
We recommend that you check the status of any race, workout or group run with the contact.
Some, but not all, of the listed group runs and workouts are affiliated with the Ann Arbor Track Club. Participants take part in all activities at their own risk.

Explore Your City Runs
Once every month, run (or walk) for free….
Third Sunday of every month at various locations. Runs/walks typically start at 9am and are 5-8 miles, sometimes longer. We encourage people to run/walk in groups. The routes can be lengthened / shortened to taste. These are friendly, noncompetitive events. Runs will cycle through the following types, and the month’s run will be announced via Ann Arbor Track Club Instagram and Facebook.
Crazy Runs are for those who like to train on diverse, scenic routes. Courses are designed to challenge serious runners, energetic walkers, and all levels in between. Snacks and juice are served. Maps for all 14 runs available for personal use.
Ann Arbor Visit Every Park Challenge Runs are born from the Visit Every Park Challenge offered by Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation. Routes take you through the various parks, community centers, and recreational facilities throughout the city, with the goal of visiting different parks on each route. Ann Arbor Art Runs allow you to explore outdoor art in all corners of the city and the UM campus! Typical runs are between 5-6 miles. For parking, meetup locations, and routes, visit the Tree Town Trail Runners website.
Regular Weekly Runs
Thursday Evening Run
This is a casual run for runners of all abilities. We meet weekly at 6:30 pm, with a start time of 6:40, in the Mitchell Field parking lot (1900 Fuller Rd) at the bus shelter. We run on trails when there is daylight, roads when it is dark. Typical pace is 8:30-11:00 min/mile on roads and 8:30-13:00 min/mile on trails. Sunday Mornings Group
This is a casual group of runners and walkers of various paces. We meet weekly at 8:30 am, at Sweetwaters Cafe in Kerrytown. Our routes vary but start and end at Sweetwaters. Feel free to stay after your workout for coffee, conversation, and good company! Contact: Renee Nilan, 989- 798-3711
Ann-Hua Runners
We run as a group every Sunday in all seasons, rain or shine and enjoy whatever mother nature gives us! September to June, we meet at 9:15 am in the WCC LA Building (4800 E. Huron River Dr; parking in lots 5, 6 or 7), on the 1st floor. In July and August, we meet at 8:30 am at the Kellogg Eye Center Parking Lot (1000 Wall St). We generally run 3-8 miles at the pace of 8-12 min/mile. You always can find peers at your pace; no need to run on your own! Contact: Zhaohui Fan, fanluck@hotmail.com
Tree Town Trail Runners
The Tree Town Trail Runners meet each Saturday at 8:00 am for trail or dirt road runs (start times may vary depending on the weather). The runs are typically between 7-10 miles, with options for shortening or lengthening the route. The group meets up at different locations each week; check their website for parking/ meetup locations and routes. This group is diverse in terms of pace and all paces are welcome! Run Toledo Races
Ann Arbor Track Club members receive a 10% discount on the entry fee for select RunToledo events. Please note that your AATC membership must be active on the date of the event to qualify for the discount. Thank you for supporting the AATC!
