Dexter-Ann Arbor Practice Run
On Sunday, May 21, 2023, three weeks before the DEXTER-ANN ARBOR RUN, there will be a training run on the half marathon course, which starts at Dexter's Creekside Intermediate School, finishes in downtown Ann Arbor on Main St., and includes about 9 miles along scenic Huron River Drive. Those preferring to run less than 13.1 miles may do so; there will be an organized start at Zeeb Rd. on Huron River Drive to run the last 8 miles of the course.

Meeting times & places:
- For carpooling to the half marathon course start, meet at 7:30am at the parking lot at the southwest corner of Main & Ann Sts., in downtown Ann Arbor (48104). Additional parking is available in the adjacent parking structure. DRIVING DIRECTIONS. We will depart from downtown for Dexter promptly at 7:40am. We will meet back here after the run for refreshments and snacks.
- Those making their own way to the half marathon course start, meet at 8:00am in the big parking lot of Creekside Intermediate School, 2615 Baker Rd. (at Dan Hoey Rd.), Dexter 48130. SEE DRIVING DIRECTIONS BELOW. We plan to get underway promptly at 8:15am.
- Those preferring an 8-mile run can meet at the 5-mile aid station, which will be located on eastbound Huron River Drive just west of Zeeb Rd. There is a small parking lot of the Burns-Stokes Preserve on Zeeb Rd. just south of Huron River Dr. DRIVING DIRECTIONS. Estimated time to join the half-marathoners coming from Dexter is 9:00am. In case of sufficient interest, carpools will be arranged to that point.
Price: $1 Track Club members / Dexter-Ann Arbor Run registrants, $2 others ( join the track club ; sign up for the race ), free for volunteers…
Volunteers are needed to drive carpool -- to drive runners from downtown Ann Arbor to Creekside School or Zeeb Rd., and, after the run, a smaller number willing to drive drivers back to their cars. We will be organizing these carpools in advance using the information you provide on the sign-up form here , so please be sure to provide the requested information if you are willing to drive or would like a ride.
We advise runners to carry their own water, sports drink, gel, or whatever you usually bring along on a long run, especially if the weather is warm. Refreshments will be available at three unmanned aid stations along the way, and after the run back at the carpool meeting place in downtown Ann Arbor (see above), adjacent to the finish on Main St. The three aid stations will be along Huron River Drive at approximately miles 5, 8 & 11, near the intersections with Zeeb, Wagner, and Bird Rds.
