AATC Mini Meets
Mini Meets are back! The 2024 Winter Mini Meet will take place on Tuesday January 30th in Bowen Fieldhouse on the Eastern Michigan University Indoor Track.
The meets give AATC adult members and the public (high school age and older) a chance to test their fitness in a casual, welcoming, supportive atmosphere. Some participants run the meet as a normal interval workout, others run for a personal best or to win an event(s).
Mini Meets are held at the same time and place as the AATC's Tuesday night adult workouts.

June 18, 2019 - Summer
WHAT A DAY! The first inaugural Clash of the Clubs track meet was a smash hit! Ann Arbor’s incredible running community was on full display as 133 runners, ranging over 11 local clubs, battled it out for bragging rights and glory! Runners form all different skill sets competed on the historic Ferry Field track in four different events: 5k, 4x200, 1 Mile, and 4x400. As competitors set new personal records on the track, off the track felt like a festival. Onlookers clapping, drums beating, horns blasting; it was a true celebration of Ann Arbor’s running community. At the end of the night two champions were crowned. For the men’s division it was Ann Arbor Running Company, and for the women it was Ann Arbor Track Club. Both teams will be returning in 2020 to defend their titles!

June 12, 2018 - Summer Mile
The 2018 AATC Summer Mile event saw 56 runners compete in the Women's Mile, Men's Mile, and co-ed 4x400m Relay on the historic University of Michigan Ferry Field, the exact site where Jesse Owens achieved 4 World Records (100 yd, 220 yd, 220 yd low hurdles, broad jump) in 45 minutes.
For this year's Summer Mile, finishing times were adjusted based on how world record mile times vary with age and gender. For example, men 23-27 received no time adjustment because men of these ages have achieved the fastest mile times. For men older or younger than 23, times were reduced by how much slower the world record mile time for their age is compared to world record mile time for men 23-27.
Relay times were un-adjusted, and the fastest team achieved a new Mini Meet record, completing the 4x400m Relay in 3:40.28 seconds.
Congratulations to everyone that participated!

June 13, 2017 - Summer Mile
The 2017 AATC Summer Mile was exactly that. The weather was sunny, hot, and rather humid, and many great mile events were run by the 52 participants: Open Mile, 30-44 Age Group Mile, 45-59 Age Group Mile, 60+ Mile, and 4x400m relay (almost a Mile). Lots of enthusiasm, a great atmosphere, and a surprise shower by the lawn sprinkler system lifted spirits.
Congratulations to all who participated, but special cheers go to Natalie McKenzie, who on this 20th AATC Mini Meet, smashed the Women's Mile record by running a 5:00.68!
February 6, 2018 - Winter Mini Meet
52 participants diggin' deep, and 11 volunteers workin' hard, made the AATC's first Mini Meet at EMU Bowen Field House a fun and exciting event. The meet featured two distances: 1 mile and 300 meter dash, each run in three groups: Open, 40-54 age group, and 55+ age group. Some runners over 40 really got their race entry's worth by running in 4 events: Open Mile, Age Group Mile, Open 300m, and Age Group 300m!
This was also the first Mini Meet to include a 300 meter dash, ensuring two new entries on the AATC Mini Meet Record Board.
